On May 16, 2024, graduate student Ha-eun Lee flew a drone equipped with a LiDAR sensor at the top of the SNU Observatory to capture terrain data of a headwater catchment in Mt. Gwanak.
On February 16, 2024, Ph.D. candidate Seungwoo Ha presented his recent work “Classifying Geomorphological Landscapes in a Small Catchment for Enhancing the Understanding of Geomorphology in Everyday Life Space: A Case Study of the Banghakcheon Catchment, Dobong-gu, Seoul (학생 일상 공간의 지형경관 인지 증대를 위한 소유역 지형경관 분류 : 서울시 도봉구 방학천 유역을 중심으로)”
On Nov. 28. 2023, Ph.D. candidate Hui Chen participated in the in Autumn-meeting of the Association of Korean Geographer (한국지리학회) to present a recent work, “How does headwater catchment extent change with relief? (최상류 유역은 기복에 따라 어떻게 변화하는가?)” .
On Nov. 4. 2023, graduate students from the course “Special lecture for geomorphology: Approach to reading the landscape and its implication for designing geomorphological education programs” and undergraduate students from ‘Introduction to Geomorphology’ participated in a joint field trip along a headwater catchment, the Dorimcheon River, in Mt. Gwanak. Thank you for your attention and cooperation throughout the field trip.
Ph.D. candidate Hui Chen participated in the 2023 15th Korea-China-Japan Joint Conference on Geography to present a recent work, “How does headwater catchment extent change with relief?” on Oct. 21, 2023. Fortunately, he had a special Q&A time with well-known geomorphologist Prof. Takashi Oguchi (University of Tokyo), who studied a similar theme in the past.
